The next morning at St. Xavier’s College, the campus is bustling with its usual energy. The warm June sun filters through the massive arches, casting long shadows across the stone corridors.
Drishya walks through the grand heritage gates, her steps light and a radiant, undeniable glow on her face. She is wearing a simple lavender lucknowi kurti, her hair tied in a neat ponytail, but the absolute peace and happiness in her eyes make her stand out in the crowded hallway.
Sitting at their usual stone bench under the old banyan tree, Suhana is furiously scrolling through her phone, a half-eaten samosa forgotten in her hand. The moment she spots Drishya walking over, she stands up, waving her clipboard.
Suhana: "Drishya! Finally! Yaar, tu kal poora din kahan gayab thi? Aunty ne bola teri tabiyat thik hai, par tu mera ek bhi phone nahi utha rahi thi. Aur ye kya chal raha hai, Singhania HQ se direct tiffin aa rahe hain tere ghar?"
Drishya giggles softly, sitting down on the bench and dropping her college bag beside her. She tilts her head, her brown eyes dancing with an incredibly mischievous spark.
Drishya: "Suhana, thoda saas le. Aur apna phone side par rakh. Mujhe tujhe bohot bada update dena hai."
Suhana: (Narrowing her eyes, instantly catching the deep blush creeping up Drishya’s neck) "Wait a minute... Tu blush kyun kar rahi hai? Oye, Drishya Sharma, kya chhupa rahi hai tu mujhse? Kya hua kal?"
Drishya takes a slow breath, her heart giving a little flutter just remembering the previous night—the emerald-green shirt, the forehead kiss in the garden, and the formal announcement at the grand dining table.
Drishya: (Voice dropping to a thrilled, happy whisper) "Kal... humare dono parivaar ek grand dinner par mile thhe, Suhana."
Suhana: (Shrugging, still oblivious) "Haan, toh? Woh toh tere Papa aur Mr. Singhania business partners hain, normal hai dinner—"
Drishya: (Interrupting her with a brilliant, breathtaking smile) "Aur wahan... humari engagement fix ho gayi hai. Next month Advait aur meri sagai hai."
Suhana freezes instantly. The piece of samosa literally slips from her fingers, dropping back into the paper plate. Her eyes widen to the size of saucers, her jaw dropping so low it looks like it might touch the stone ground. The absolute silence lasts for a solid five seconds before she completely explodes.
Suhana: (Screaming, jumping up from the bench) "WHAT?!?! KYA?! OH MY GOD! DRISHYA!"
A few passing second-year students turn around in shock, staring at their Head Volunteer, but Suhana couldn't care less about campus decorum right now. She grabs Drishya by both her shoulders, shaking her dramatically.
Suhana: "Tu mazaak kar rahi hai na? India ka sabse bada corporate king... India’s most eligible, strict, untamed billionaire billionaire tycoon... tera मंगेतर (fiance) banne wala hai?! Pichle hafte tak tu use 'khunkhar CEO' bol rahi thi!"
Drishya: (Blushing a deep scarlet, pulling Suhana back down to the bench) "Shhh! Suhana, dheere bolo! Poora college sun lega! Aur main mazaak nahi kar rahi hoon. It’s official. Unhone... Advait ne poore parivaar ke saamne haan kaha."
Suhana: (Gasping, clutching her chest as tears of absolute, profound joy well up in her eyes) "Oh my god, Drishya... Main sach me ro doongi abhi! Yeh kitni badi news hai! Jab maine kal raat ko unhe video call par dekha thha, tabhi mujhe thoda doubt hua thha, par itni jaldi?! standard procedure toh crash hi kar diya tum dono ne!"
She throws her arms around Drishya, hugging her so tightly that Drishya can barely breathe, laughing and crying at the same time.
Suhana: (Pulling back, a massive, triumphant grin on her face) "Lekin ek baat boloon? He is so incredibly lucky to have you. Jo insaan pure business world ko dimaag se chalata hai, use handle karne ke liye meri psychology expert hi chahiye thi. Ab bata, garden me kya hua? Unhone kaise bola? Romantic thhe ya wahan bhee business contract sign karwa rahe thhe?"
Drishya laughs beautifully, her fingers instinctively tracing her forehead where his lips had lingered last night.
Drishya: "Bohot romantic thhe, Suhana. Unhone kaha ki unka system architecture mere bina complete nahi ho sakta."
Suhana: (Squealing loudly, grabbing her clipboard to fanning her face) "Shut up! Mr. Strict CEO coding language me romance kar rahe hain? I can't take this! Chalo, abhi ke abhi library chalte hain, lectures baad me dekhenge. Mujhe poori timeline chahiye, cover-to-cover report do mujhe!"
As Suhana drags her toward the library, talking non-stop about matching lehengas and handling the media layout, Drishya looks up at the sunny sky, her phone vibrating in her palm. It’s a text from Advait:
Advait: "Good morning, Drishya. Hope Suhana hasn't disrupted the entire college framework after hearing the news. Keep your discipline intact. I'll pick you up after your lectures."
Drishya holds the phone close to her chest, her heart completely full, knowing that her beautiful, chaotic college days were about to turn into a magnificent forever with her corporate king. .
